Magnetic Materials

For the development of inductive components, a profound knowledge of magnetics is an important requirement. Complex factors, such as magnetic flux density, magnetic field energy, air gaps, Q-factor, permeability, coercivity, core and copper losses, saturation, remanence, etc., are just a few criteria to consider in the choice for the right core material and shape. Along with special calculation software (e.g. RALE), the engineer?s evaluation and interpretation with regard to feasibility is required, as this aspect is generally not included in the development software.
Some of ISE?s engineers have a university degree in magnetic materials.
