The ETD core design is a further development of the E ferrite core. It is very suitable for use in switch mode power supplies with frequencies from 50 to 200 kHz. This shape guarantees for optimal performance in proportion to volume and weight. In comparison to E cores, the possibilities for shielding improved significantly. The round bobbins are suitable for homogenous winding, also with relatively thicker wire. For flexible use of ETD cores in flyback transformers and power chokes, ISE can make use of special appliances to grind the required air gap to measure.
