Magnetic Shielding
A magnetic shield is a metal case which serves the purpose of protecting sensitive equipment against magnetic fields; the thickness of the material is proportional to the energy of the field. For low-frequency fields, generally, highly permeable mu-metal (80% nickel) is used. By and large, especially equipment in the vicinity of power lines and transformer buildings is affected by magnetic radiation.
